Downtown Los Altos ushers in March with First Friday

First Friday festivities for March are scheduled 6-8 p.m. Friday in downtown Los Altos.

The evening will feature activities for all ages. Visitors can browse and shop at stores and galleries, many of which offer First Friday discounts and complimentary refreshments.

Entertainment will include live bands at various downtown locations: Amandine Project; Maximum Hold; Eurotrash; Molly and Scott; Song Garden; Vocal Capital; Bush, Brush and Bramble; and John Henry’s Farm. Children’s activities are scheduled for the “Kids Corner” at Veterans Community Plaza at the corner of Main and State streets, and local art galleries will host receptions.

First Friday is a monthly promotional event sponsored by the nonprofit Los Altos Forward, a program of Los Altos Community Foundation. Los Altos Forward is a volunteer group dedicated to promoting vibrancy in downtown Los Altos.

First Fridays are designed to provide fun, social and community-building evenings for local residents, according to event organizers.

Los Altos Forward seeks volunteers to join the First Friday Committee, which meets 5:45-7:30 p.m. the first and third Tuesdays of the month at Nature Gallery, 296 State St.
